🏐🦅 Fit & Fun Friday with our 5th Grade Eagles! Nothing better than our adult & student Eagles connecting through healthy activities, movement, & FUN together! Volleyball took center stage during Friday’s PE session. Eagles growing through activity, teamwork, & connection.
🦅🎉 Our preschool Eagles have been getting into their soaring groove! They have been safe, on task, acting responsibly, & showing respect while learning & growing together. To celebrate their wonderful choices & teamwork, they colored mighty SOARing Eagles together.

Our Eagles are building independence, confidence, and learning stamina through whole-group instruction, teacher-led small groups, and differentiated math and literacy activities!
Flexible seating encourages thoughtful choices, focus, and responsibility while students collaborate, practice skills, and take ownership of their learning.
🎉 And a little extra fun! One classroom celebrated reaching its class goal with a creative Forts & Fun incentive—bringing cozy spaces, creativity, and a well-earned celebration into their learning day!

🚒🔥 October Fire Prevention Learning at Morningside! 🦅
Our Eagles recently welcomed Sioux City Fire Rescue for an engaging opportunity to learn important fire prevention and safety practices! Students explored firefighting equipment, learned about protective gear, and connected with our local firefighters.
❤️ A BIG thank-you to Sioux City Fire Rescue for helping our Eagles build lifelong safety skills!
Closing the week with PD & building goal aligned circle connections about our Goal 1 focus on connections, SOAR expectations & active supervision -- Goal 2 Reading Proficiency, & our small group math focus. All supported through our team data-based decision-making. We brought it all together with our 2nd Grade Island visit & team challenge activity.
Instructional routines setting up high engagement, growing learning stamina, & building student independence. Our Eagles are in their Green Zone learning--connecting & reflecting throughout the day!
SOARing & celebrating together in our classroom communities. Our 3rd grade group reached their classroom Eagle ticket goal connected to our Safe, On task, Act responsibly, be Respectful shared SOAR Values & paused to acknowledge SOARing efforts last week #TheMorningsideEagleWay❤️
Captured some focused and creative skill today in 5th Grade Art as Eagles were working through their Still Life drawing lesson.
Teacher team time reviewing our building goals & reflecting on our shared SOAR expectations teaching, modeling & reinforcing consistent practices in classrooms & building wide common areas through our Morningside Way adult commitments & active "Move--Scan--Connect" supervision.

Our staff launch Friday PDs with goal-aligned collaboration focused on the priorities guiding our work this year:
🦅 Strengthening the Morningside Eagle Way through increased SEL and Restorative Practices integration, CharacterStrong, and consistent building-wide SOAR expectations.
📚 Advancing reading proficiency through Benchmark Advance action-planning processes, tiered differentiation, and data-based decision making to respond to student needs.
➕ Continuing our building math focus through daily small groups, strong instructional practices, and data driven differentiated supports.
Our Eagles continue to learn together, collaborate, and strengthen our system that supports every learner, every day!
